The European Researchers' Night takes place every year at the same time in many European cities - for example in Vienna, Salzburg and Innsbruck as well as online. The aim is to increase the interest of young people in science and to showcase the impact of researchers' work on people's daily lives. The European Researchers’ Night attracts each year more than 1 million visitors in Europe and beyond.

This year, the event took place in 26 countries on Friday, September 30.

The various stations and workshops offered an opportunity to look behind the scenes of research departments, get to know scientists personally and learn more about their research, educational paths and everyday working life. Researchers at the Austrian Academy of Sciences support this cause and used the opportunity to awaken visitors' curiosity about their research topics.
