It revolves around the idea of complex quantum states. I shall argue that a suitable framing of this notion could lead, on the "applied" side, to the clarification of the origin of the power of quantum tasks; and on the "fundamental" side, to the development of toy models with a real Heisenberg cut, hopefully amenable to experimental tests.
