It was without question the quantum party of the year. “Willkommen Quantenwelt”, organized by Quantum Science Austria (quantA) with its six partner institutions – Austrian Academy of Sciences (ÖAW)Technische Universität Wien, Universität Innsbruck, University of ViennaJohannes Kepler University Linz and Institute of Science and Technology Austria – and in collaboration with the City of Vienna, brought together people from science, politics, industry and society. This special evening marked the UNESCO International Year of Quantum Science and Technology, showcasing both Austria’s proud legacy – from Schrödinger’s equation to today’s quantum start-ups – and its dynamic future.

The evening featured:
Welcome words by Federal Minister Eva-Maria Holzleitner (Federal Ministry of Women, Science and Research, BMFWF) and Vienna's City Councilor Veronica Kaup-Hasler, a conversation with representatives of quantAs partner institutions, an insightful interview session with comedians Stermann & Grissemann and Francesca FerlainoMarcus Huber and Thomas Juffmann, and a lively Science Slam by young researchers.
Improvised quantum music by pianist Juliane Sailer and moderation by science journalist Tanja Traxler (DER STANDARD).

"Willkommen Quantenwelt" was a successful example of how research, the public, and decision-makers can come together — united by shared curiosity and enthusiasm for one of the most exciting fields of our time.
