As part of the International Year of Quantum Science and Technology 2025, Quantum Science Austria (quantA), together with all partner institutions and the Children’s Office of the University of Vienna, invited school classes from Vienna and the surrounding area to the Austrian Academy of Sciences (ÖAW). The aim was to give young people direct access to current research topics in quantum physics — in a playful, experimental, and accessible way.
During the event, researchers from the ÖAW, University of Vienna, TU Wien, Johannes Kepler University Linz, and the Institute of Science and Technology Austria demonstrated that quantum physics is more than just tinkering with formulas. It offers a new way of understanding our world — and gives young people the opportunity to help shape the future with new knowledge.
IQOQI Vienna joined the event with its interactive workshop “Hands on Light!”
“Quantastic!” is part of a nationwide series of events in Austria held as part of the UNESCO International Year of Quantum Science and Technology 2025.
