IQOQI Vienna at the Children's University 2025

Does perfect sharpness exist? How do we understand uncertainty in the quantum world? Do quantum particles communicate with each other? These are some of the questions our researchers tried to answer during the Children's University.

On July 18, the Austrian Academy of Sciences once again hosted exciting lectures and workshops where children could search for a Roman treasure or find out whether aliens live in space. IQOQI Vienna took part with the workshop “Quantum Uncertainty, Sharpness in the Quantum World”, where our researchers Alois Mair and Stefan Lukas Ludescher showed why nature is crazier than we think. The children got to see experiments with light particles and that they can be connected in a special way. They received tools to continue with their own experiments at home.
