A quantum channel with correlations among only certain subsystems can be viewed as a "correlation with subsystem constraints". I present some results on the characterization of general correlations with subsystem constraints, as well as of their composition and decomposition. The results allow one to generalize the previously studied process matrices and higher-order maps of computation. Some conceptual implications on causal reference frames and the physical realizability of correlations with indefinite causal structure are discussed.
